The Sustainability Coordinator (Student 12-month Placement) is a new and important role to support and co-ordinate the development of a clear, consistent and credible sustainability strategy. The role is varied and works across the whole British Bakels business.
Start: July 2024.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Support and co-ordinate the development of a company sustainability strategy:
- Scope 1: Direct emissions from the company’s operations
- Scope 2: Indirect energy emissions
- Scope 3: Other indirect emissions
- Data collection and interpretation from a wide range of sources (internal and external)
- Work closely with our sustainability partners & advisors
- Play a leading role in regular sustainability meetings and communicating progress
- Work with the group sustainability officer where required
- Attend meetings at all Bakels company sites (Bicester and Liverpool)
- Perform other additional duties as assigned or required
- Uphold British Bakels company values during all work activities
- Contributing to the formulation of a Corporate Social Responsibility report
- Assist in maintaining the Group Sustainability hub information for Bakels websites
Person Specification
- You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be confident in dealing with a wide cross-section of people
- Good organisational and planning skills – ability to prioritise and manage tasks, and to work proactively and unsupervised when required
- Strong presentation, communication and listening skills
- A self-starter with ability to meet deadlines. The role is suited to a self-motivated individual who takes pride in completing tasks to a high standard, with a high degree of attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills, with at least 2 years’ experience of using Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a business or academic environment
- Ability to collate and communicate technical information in various formats
- Willingness to travel regularly between company sites (Bicester / Liverpool). A driving licence is therefore preferred, although travel may be made by public transport in line with our travel and expenses policies
