Scope for Role
- Produce products right first time, every time, in line with the Production Plan, always adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Report any issues observed relating to Safety, Quality, Sanitation, Machinery, or Throughput to the Shift Management.
- Lead and motivate staff to ensure good manufacturing and safety practices are maintained.
- Provide cover for the Shift Manager during periods of absence.
Key Areas of Responsibility

- Manufacture products to the required specification, conducting regular line walks to ensure that Quality Systems and Procedures are understood and adhered to, completing all documentation and data entries accurately and timely.
- Conduct line walks to ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and correct use of PPE.
- Promote a “Clean-As-You-Go” culture, ensuring all production areas and equipment are clean and tidy.
- Support investigations and report on any technical or quality issues.
- Manage and control knives and toolbox contents within allocated departments.
- Provide support to Shift Management on issues related to absence, performance, or discipline.
- Ensure products are manufactured and packed on target as per the Production Plan, highlighting any variances.
- Report issues related to Quality, Safety, Sanitation, Machinery, or Output and suggest improvements.
- Act as the first point of contact for operators within the allocated department.
- Ensure all tasks are conducted safely, adhering to the Bakels Health & Safety Policy.
- Promote a positive near-miss culture and report all accidents, incidents, and near misses accurately and timely.

Key Compretences

Hours: Monday-Friday 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm
Shift allowance: 20%
