Production

British Bakels occupies a 5.5 acre freehold site the development of which started in 1990.

The site now comprises of a powder blending facility, a production unit for food ingredients in liquid and paste form and a 2400 pallet space warehouse.

Also on the Bicester site are all technical and product development functions, sales, customer service, admin and computing.

The production facilities are EFSIS accredited at the higher level and Soil Association approved for the production of organic products.

The powder blending facility comprises two Hosokawa Nauta mixers and a form fill sachet plant. This enables a wide range of bread and confectionery ingredients to be produced and packed in sizes from 250 grams to 1 tonne bags.

The wet factory has a range of mixing and cooking vessels allowing the production of a very wide range of products from oil and fat blends through to release agents, liquid improvers, glazes, fudge icings and chilled RTU custard.

Products can be packed in sizes from one kilo piping bags to road tankers.

Product development is conducted in-house by a team of food technologists, bakery specialists and chefs. Full test bakery facilities are available both for product development and for use by customers to carry out their own development trials.

A large well equipped meeting room, which again can be made available for customers use, completes the resources on the Bicester site.
